This training is intended for Youth Prevention (YP) providers who are approved by Texas HHSC to implement CBSG: Kids' Connection/Youth Connection curricula.

The Rainbow Days’ new 3-hour CBSG® Program Refresher Training will provide participants an opportunity to connect with other trained facilitators, be reenergized and become familiar with the 2022 Revised Kids’ Connection and Youth Connection manuals. Topics include: Facilitation Skills, Implementation Fidelity, New Activities, Managing Challenging Behavior, Communication with Partners and Parents, and Attending to Self-Care and more. This is an opportunity to dialogue with other facilitators and share your triumphs and challenges! Please note that you must have previously completed the 7-hour CBSG® Program Facilitator Training before attending the Refresher training.

Learning Objectives - Identify new options for managing challenging behaviors and potential solutions for issues with implementation fidelity - Briefly describe common mental and behavioral health needs of populations served - Briefly describe updates, revisions, and new activities in Kids’ Connection & Youth Connection 2022 Editions

Requirements This course is virtual, occurring live over Zoom. All participants are required to join on camera and expected to fully engage in the training to be eligible to receive a Continuing Education (CE) certificate upon completion. 

Know Before You Go Registration priority will be given to YP program staff who have never completed an official CBSG Training. To maximize your training experience, please have your complete curriculum kit(s) with you.

Wendi McMullen

Wendi McMullen is currently serving as the Training Manager for Rainbow Days Training, a division of Rainbow Days, Inc. Wendi began working with Rainbow Days in 1993 and has served in many capacities during her 30-year tenure with the agency.

In 1997 she began working with the Family Connection Program, which serves children and youth in the Dallas area who are experiencing homelessness. She was the lead developer for Family Connection Program replication in Houston, Texas and Denver, Colorado. Wendi also served as the agency’s Chief Operating Officer for six years before stepping down to stay at home and raise her son. Wendi joined the Rainbow Days Training team in January 2020. As the Training Manager she oversees the daily operations of the division and serves as co-trainer for the 7-hour Rainbow Days Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG®) Program Facilitator Training. Wendi has a passion for helping others and making a difference in children’s lives. She feels blessed to continue her work serving others through Rainbow Days Training.

Jill Darling

Jill is an Independent Education Consultant. During her 30 years in education, Jill was the Richardson ISD Director of Student Assistance Programs where she led a department of 12 different drug and violence prevention programs that were in place on 55 campuses.  Throughout her career Jill has been awarded “Administrator of the Year” for RISD, the “Lone Star Award” from the Texas Association of Substance Abuse Programs and the “Individual Promise Award” for her work in the substance use/misuse community.  Jill trains in Bullying Prevention, R time, Student Assistance Programs, Developmental Assets, Peer Meditation, Current Drug-Trends, and the Rainbow Days' Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG) Program.  She has presented trainings and conference workshops at the local, state, national and international levels.  In her free time, Jill loves to travel, camp, exercise and cook.
