Suicide Care in Texas teaches participants about basic suicide prevention, intervention and postvention efforts that everyone can do to decrease suicides.  Participants will leave the training with additional tools they can use when working with individuals with thoughts of suicide and knowledge about additional available resources and programs available in the state.

PAX Tools for Community Educators- An individual who completes this training will become a Certified PAX Tools Community Educator, authorized to present PAX Tools Community Workshops for parents & caregivers in their own community.

The goal of this workshop is to provide a refresher for those prevention specialists who have already fulfilled their 6-hour requirement but would benefit from a review and update of basic prevention ethics concepts. This training is intended for substance use prevention professionals in Texas.

This workshop will offer a broad overview of the theory and research behind Learning to BREATHE (L2B), a mindfulness-based intervention for adolescents and young adults. For the foundation workshop, participants will experience some of the activities and practices of L2B as if they were students in the L2B class.

Ethics in Prevention (EIP) training provides participants with an opportunity to explore the role and application of ethics in prevention work. Throughout EIP, participants explore practical information and guidance, engage in both small- and large-group discussions of key concepts, and identify action steps to facilitate future application.

This multi-day workshop is designed to help you facilitate the growth of mindfulness in adolescents using the Learning to BREATHE (L2B) program.

This training is intended for Youth Prevention (YP) providers who are approved by Texas HHSC to implement CBSG: Kids' Connection/Youth Connection curricula. CBSG: KCYC  is a unique, multi-cultural, evidence-based preventive intervention for selective and indicated populations.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions.

The SPF: Application for Prevention Success Training (SAPST) is a foundational course of study in substance abuse prevention. This 2023 version was created through a collaborative effort of SAMHSA’s regional Prevention Technology Transfer Centers (PTTCs) and National Coordinating Office.​
