Reporting to the Prevention Supervisor, the Prevention Specialist is responsible for the education of high-risk youth and families using the research-based curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities are essential to successful performance in this position

1. Responsible for accurate completion of monthly reports and other documentation related to the progress of participants in the program.
2. Promotes and utilizes a research-based curriculum as designated by the program contract for youth and/or families.
3. Presents facilitate, and co-facilitates various group, individual, family, and public education presentations.
4. Conducts pre-tests and post-tests on all participants as designated by the program contract
5. Provides crisis intervention and referrals for participants as needed
6. Attends and participates in the local school, community, staff, and other meetings in accordance with program needs.
7. Provides youth supervision in all program activities.
8. Adheres to the professional ethics and conduct of standards as established by Phoenix House policies.
9. Coordinates and develops community resources and referrals.
10. Coordinates and facilitates activities that include meals, snacks, field trips, arts & crafts projects, and sports activities.
11. Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time
12. Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings
13. Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others
