Class focus for your training will be the age group of your choice, however once trained you will be certified to deliver all SFP age variants. SFP group leader trainings include both instruction and participation by trainees and include:
• Conceptual basis and origins of SFP
• Overall structure and operation of SFP
• Overview of the parent, child, and family curriculum
• Learning "Child's Game" and "Parent's Game" in SFP
• Simulation experience delivering sessions from parent and child courses
• Recruiting and retaining families
• Adapting SFP to fit the families you serve
• Administering evaluation instruments
• Handling crisis; providing referrals
• Group leading skills
Audience
This training is intended for Youth Prevention (YP) program providers who are approved by Texas Health and Human Services Commission to implement Strengthening Families Program 6-16 curricula.
Requirements
This SFP 6-16 training is virtual, occurring live over Zoom. All participants are required to join on camera and expected to fully engage in the training to be eligible to receive a Continuing Education (CE) certificate upon completion.
Continuing Education Hours: 12hrs* (over 2 days)
Satisfactory completion of continuing education hours (CEHs) requires attending at least 85% of the training duration, participating in activities (e.g., polls, breakout rooms), and completing the training evaluation.

Registration priority will be given to YP program staff members who have never completed an official Strengthening Families Program 6-16 Curriculum Training previously. Approved registrants will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom link to attend the virtual training and an email from TPT with the training handouts. One registration covers both days
All other individuals who submit a registration will be added to a waitlist and will receive an email notification if a spot becomes available for them to attend the training.
